Bob Nelsen and his family are restoring this unique piece of agricultural history in Ross, Iowa. It has a scale house with tin roof, arched doorways and windows, and the red bricks are setting on a limestone mortar foundation. The scale house was built in the late 1920’s and it has a 22’x9′ Fairbanks 15ton Type S Wagon scale. Siouxland Scale Service is donating a period correct weighbeam to complete it and after the restoration is complete on the scale house, we will make the scale fully functional again.
